Stripe

Bring Stripe customers, subscriptions and payments into Nitrosend for segments, personalisation and flows

Install the Nitrosend app on your Stripe account to import customers with their subscription and payment history, and to trigger flows from billing events as they happen.

This is your own Stripe account's data. It is separate from how Nitrosend bills you; nothing here touches your Nitrosend plan.

What syncs

The Stripe connector imports:

  • Stripe customers as Nitrosend contacts (email and phone where present)
  • Subscription facts on the contact: plan, status, MRR, renewal date, trial end, cancellation flag
  • Paid invoices and refunds as orders, so revenue and lifetime value are counted once
  • Stripe source metadata on the contact

Customers are imported as contacts only. Use segments to build audiences from subscription status, plan, MRR and payment activity.

Stripe customers have not opted in to marketing email by installing an app, so they are imported unsubscribed by default. Opt contacts in through your own consent flow before sending marketing email; transactional and account email can use the facts straight away.

Events and flow triggers

Once connected, Stripe sends account events to Nitrosend. Each event is verified, matched to your connection and applied to the contact, and the following flow triggers fire:

TriggerStripe event
Purchaseinvoice.paid
Checkoutcheckout.session.completed
Subscription startedcustomer.subscription.created with status active or trialing
Subscription canceledcustomer.subscription.deleted, or an update that turns on cancel at period end
Trial endingcustomer.subscription.trial_will_end
Payment failedinvoice.payment_failed

Every trigger carries event.source, event.stripe_event_id, event.stripe_event_type and event.customer_id; subscription triggers add event.plan and event.currency, and a failed payment adds event.amount. A redelivered Stripe event never enrols a contact twice.

Connect Stripe

From Nitrosend:

  1. Go to Integrations in Nitrosend.
  2. Choose Stripe.
  3. Click Connect and approve the Nitrosend app on the Stripe account you want to import.
  4. Return to Nitrosend and run Sync customers.

From the Stripe App Marketplace:

  1. Install Nitrosend from the listing.
  2. If the account email is new to Nitrosend, an account is created for you and you land in the dashboard signed in. If this Stripe account is already connected to a Nitrosend account, you land in that account.
  3. If your email already has a Nitrosend account that is not yet connected to this Stripe account, sign in and connect Stripe from Integrations.

The app asks for read access to customers, subscriptions, invoices, charges, refunds, checkout sessions and events. Nitrosend never stores an API key you paste; the app token is refreshed on your behalf and only ever reads.

The sync runs in the background. The sync progress tray keeps you updated anywhere in the dashboard, or return to the integration detail page for details. Run Sync customers again any time to refresh history; live events keep contacts current between syncs.

Test mode

Choose the test-mode install link to connect a Stripe test environment. A test connection is kept apart from a live one, so both can exist for the same Stripe account without mixing customers or revenue.

Disconnect and reconnect

Uninstalling the app from Stripe stops all reads immediately; Nitrosend keeps the imported contacts and history. Reconnecting from Integrations restores the same connection and its baseline, so nothing is counted twice.

After import

  • Review imported customers in Contacts.
  • Use segments to build audiences from plan, status, MRR and payment activity.
  • Build flows from the triggers above.
  • Send only to contacts who are subscribed in Nitrosend.
Warning

Stripe sync imports customers and receives billing events. It does not charge customers, change subscriptions, or write data back to Stripe.
