Creating Campaigns
A campaign is a one-time email or SMS send to an explicit audience.
Steps
- Choose a name — for internal tracking
- Select a template — pick an existing template or create one inline
- Pick your audience — choose contact lists, a segment, or All Contacts
- Preview and test — send a test email to yourself
- Send or schedule — send immediately or pick a date and time
Audience options
| Audience | Use when |
|---|---|
| Contact lists | You want to send to one or more curated lists. Lists can also be filtered by a segment. |
| Segment | You want to send to contacts matching saved rules, without choosing a list first. |
| All Contacts | You intentionally want to send to every subscribed contact in the brand. |
If no audience is selected, the campaign stays a draft and delivery is blocked. All Contacts requires a confirmation before sending or scheduling.
Campaign states
| State | Description |
|---|---|
| Draft | Being edited, not yet sent |
| Scheduled | Queued for a future send time |
| Sending | Currently being delivered |
| Sent | Delivery complete |
Tracking
After sending, view open rates, click rates, and bounce/unsubscribe metrics on the campaign detail page.
Iterate on a sent campaign
Sent campaigns are locked — their content, audience, schedule, and template can't be changed so the record stays faithful to what went out. To send a variant, click Edit as new campaign on the locked banner (or Duplicate from the overflow menu on any row). You get a fresh draft that inherits the audience and email but resets the schedule and approval, ready for you to tweak and re-send.
Renaming a sent campaign still works on any status — the name is internal metadata.
See Campaigns → Edit lock and lifecycle for the full matrix.
